Alhamdullilah, the most precious month of RAMADAN is with us. This month reminds us all the great kindness, generosity and mercy of Allah –swt. We find the greatest meaning in Ramadan when we not only fast and pray but also think about, and help people around us who are facing poverty and hardship.

In Pakistan, Helping Hands Worldwide is working to address shelter and basic needs among Pakistani communities ravaged by the on-going flooding crisis. Helping Hands Worldwide has distributed tents, food and non food items (quilts and blankets, mosquito nets, kitchen sets, sleeping mats, etc.) to the needy in the flood affected areas.

The crisis facing Pakistan is enormous and still unfolding. There continues to be massive destruction as bloated rivers flow southwards across the plains. And this crisis will not be over when the flood waters recede - due to homelessness, hunger, and illness. We are still very much in the emergency phase of this crisis
