Children School Project
Families in Need Receive Backpacks and School Supplies
This year, Ramadan fell right in the heart of back-to-school season, and as children in the Earthquake area prepared to start another school year, Helping Hands Worldwide held its Annual Backpack Distribution program. Partnering with local volunteers handed backpacks filled with school supplies to needy elementary school students in and around most needy areas.
Each backpack contains essential school supplies for students including notebooks, pencils, erasers, pens, rulers and glue. They come in different colors and sizes depending on the age group. The backpacks were prepared by Helping Hands Worldwide’s Social Service Department with the help of volunteers around the area.
"It is a privilege for Helping Hands Worldwide to be able to provide school supplies and backpacks to so many children. Their excitement at having new things for school is evident in their smiling faces," says a local volunteer. The program continues to expand every year, as more families struggle with basic necessities, leaving little room in their budget for school supplies.
The Backpack Program is just one of Helping Hands Worldwide education initiatives in the Pakistan. Helping Hands Worldwide believes that education is a human right through which communities become equipped to better their social and economic conditions.

With this donation, Helping Hands Worldwide will carry out some much needed maintenance activities to improve the overall facility of the existing schools and provide an enhanced learning environment for pupils for years to come.

Helping Hands Worldwide has been activly working on this project after 2005 Earthquake and is susseccfully carrying it over after the Tsunami, sitution in Swat and now the worst Floods in Pakistan which has increased the number of families who are in desperate need of your donations, specially in Pakistan.
